Roadtrip 2023 Fall : Richland - Bend - Reno - Mammoth Lakes - Henderson - Donkey Heaven - Sedona - Joshua Tree - Paso Robles - St Helena - Brookings - Seaside

Day 13 - Cerbat Foothills - Coyote Trailhead - Monolith Gardens

Bike rack for four-legged bikes.

We finally found the trailhead (Coyote) that we were looking for on Day 11. The Team heads in.

I'm pretty sure this isn't exactly what the Buddha had in mind.

Our neighbor Blair calls this Ella's "Stallion" pose.

Trail ready.

The monoliths have been growing steadily in the Monolith Gardens under the watchful eye of BLM.

Perfect set for a western - I'm sure the location scouts have been here.

What's the holdup?

Holdup rectified. The Team forges on.

The prickly pear is a cool thing - but doesn't that rock in the distance look like it's just about to roll?

Plants in full bloom with the monoliths in the distance.

Even out here, in the middle of nowhere, there is evidence of the Wildfire Lab. In this experiment, the Navy has commissioned an Ant-Based Deep Space Tracking Antenna. They specified the facility (now closed) in Arecibo as the design model. This one works pretty good. For an Ant-based product.

More monoliths provide backdrops for the nature gardens. Wish my garden looked this good!

Never mess with the Cholla Cactus. You will lose. Pay the ransom.

The Renewed Topographics: Cerbat Foothills 2023.

More chollas looking oh so pretty. They're beggin for a touch. Just don't!

Ella gets very anxious when the team is seperated. We must keep eyes on all members at all times.
